A hike to above the tree line.....

We went on this beautiful hike,
to the mountain pastures,
where the farm used to send
their herd of cows and sheep in the summer.

It turned out to be a little more of a hike then expected,
do to the fact that a gate across the gravel road was locked,
and we had to park our cars
further down the valley then first planned.

About 2 hours later,
and after lots of brakes to catch the breath,
we where above the part of the mountain
that is normally covered with woods.
The openness of the plateau was around us in all directions.

We met some of the summer campers,
they where of a curious nature,
but didn't have much to say.

The guys wanted to fish,
all I could think of was coffee...

No Starbucks,
but inside the old summer house
I found an old coffee pot,
coffee and sugar cubes.

The sugar cubes for my youngest,
and "never has a sandwich tasted this good",
she said.

About 10 trouts later,
we found our way back to the civilization.

I love to take walks like this in the mountain, above the tree's growing zone. You captured just the right feelings of a mountinawalk: the view, the sheeps, the old cabin-hut with an open door for guests, and the trouts to bring back for a late evening meal!
Thansk for sharing (and the nice comment on my blog)!

Overalt. Og den smaker vel aldrig bedre enn etter en sånn tur.

Jeg håper du føler deg bedre.
